Most surgeons do not leave a congress able to do something new. They leave with notes. This course is built the other way round: the theory is trimmed to the decisions that actually change an operation, and the rest of the day is spent with instruments in hand.
You work on cadaveric specimens through the approaches you are likely to use in your own theatre, then watch the same steps performed on a live list the following morning. Because groups are deliberately small, nobody waits their turn at the back of the room, and questions get answered while the anatomy is still in front of you.
The programme is directed by Assoc. Prof. Dr Tuncay Taş, who performs more than four hundred implant, augmentation and reconstructive procedures each year for patients from over sixty countries, and who founded the Exclusive Urology Course through which surgeons from four continents have trained in Istanbul. He teaches alongside a faculty of urology professors, so you see more than one pair of hands during the week.
The course sits inside a working andrology practice rather than a training centre that opens only for courses. The same theatre and the same clinic run the regular lists for penile implant in Turkey, penile enlargement in Turkey and erectile dysfunction treatment in Turkey, which is why the live sessions you observe are ordinary operating days and not a demonstration arranged for visitors.

Choosing between malleable and inflatable devices, and explaining that choice to a patient honestly
The penoscrotal, subcoronal and infrapubic approaches, and when each one earns its place

The week moves through four phases. Exact timings follow the operating list of that week, so the live sessions are real cases rather than a rehearsal.
Selection and planning. Short, focused sessions on assessment, device choice, expectation setting and consent, worked through with case material.
Cadaveric laboratory. Supervised practice on the specimen, working through each approach step by step with the faculty at your shoulder.
Live surgery. Observation of implant cases in theatre, with the reasoning explained as it happens rather than afterwards.
Complications and revision. Open discussion of infection, erosion, mechanical failure and reoperation, using cases from the clinic's own experience.
The course is directed by Assoc. Prof. Dr Tuncay Taş and taught with urology professors from neighbouring fields, so the discussion is not limited to one operating style.

A few things worth knowing before you ask us to hold a place.
Places are confirmed for licensed doctors. We ask for proof of registration before a place is held, and the cadaveric laboratory is closed to anyone else.
Theory, the laboratory and live surgery all take place at Dr Tas Clinic in Nişantaşı, Şişli, roughly forty minutes from Istanbul Airport. You do not move between venues during the week.
Course materials, lunches and coffee breaks are part of the fee. Flights and hotel are not, but we will suggest hotels nearby and arrange airport transfers once your dates are fixed.
The fee depends on the dates and how many surgeons attend together, so we quote it in writing rather than publishing a figure that would not apply to you.
Programme content, timings and faculty may be adjusted to the operating list of the week. We would rather change the timetable than put on a case that is not real.
Licensed physicians, in practice urologists and andrologists who already operate and want to add penile prosthetic surgery, or to sharpen it. We ask for proof of medical registration before confirming a place. It is not open to students or to non-medical staff.
Five days at Dr Tas Clinic in Nişantaşı, Şişli, central Istanbul, about forty minutes from Istanbul Airport. Theory, the cadaveric laboratory and live surgery observation all happen on the same site.
Both. You practise on cadaveric specimens under supervision, which is where the hands-on hours are spent, and you observe live implant cases in theatre. Operating on a patient is not part of the course.
Groups are kept deliberately small so that every participant gets real time on the specimen rather than a place in a crowd around the table. Tell us how many of you are coming and we will confirm what is available for your dates.
Yes. Every participant who completes the programme receives a certificate of attendance from the course.
Fees depend on the dates and on the number of participants, so we send a written quote rather than publishing a price. Course materials, lunches and coffee breaks are included. Travel and accommodation are not, though we will recommend hotels close to the clinic and organise airport transfers.
